[ episodes ]
[ episodes ] is pieces related to what generally is called 'music theatre'. This is where music, text, film and movement unite.
- "manT.E.L." for clarinet, cello and audience. A piece where sit-com meets the contemporary music scene. Premiere performance during the Ultima Festival 2006, by Rolf Borch and Tanja Orning.
- "Play me" for percussion/performer. Commissioned and premiere performance by Wendy Greenberg in 2007.
- "Good Ol´ New" for quintet. Premiere performance by Oslo Sinfonietta in 2008.
- "Fill in the blanks" for 3 percussionists/performers. Commissioned and premiere performance by Pinquins 2011.
- This year I´ll be working with Jenny Hval and Astrid Marie Huvestad on a new piece with working title "Oh, Danny boy".
Performances
* Ensemble neoN will have a workshop april 23rd and 24th - with a work-in-progress presentation at Riksscenen, Schous Plass tuesday 24th. My project is a collaboration with Jenny Hval (text ++) and Astrid Marie Huvestad (video ++). Julian Skar and Ignas Krunglevicous will as have presentations. Come have a peek!
* Ensemble neoN and Susanna Wallumrød just finnished recording in Rainbow Studio. Julian Skar and me have scored the arrangements. We´re proudly looking forward to the release of this recording!

* I got a 3 year grant for composing from the "government grant for artists". I'm very happy, and greatful!
* The sound installation project by me and the artist Lars KLristian Røed framed "feedbox" was chosen as one of 6 works to represent Norway for the international jury of ISCM 2013 in Bratislava. We´re very gratefull for this!

* Just came back from Lærdal, recording and producing new record with Gjertruds Sigøynerorkester. Great norwegian and hungarian musicians! Release in march next year.
* Recieved fundings from Norsk Kulturråd for a sound/art-project with Lars Kristian Røed called "Feedbox". Lars is a great artist, really looking forward to work with him on this mobile sound installation-esque collaboration!
* Just got a commission from Duo Parula (Gjertrud Pedersen - clarinet, Astrid Kvalbein - soprano). Short piece with working title "krås", to their "Bird-catalog", will be composed during winter 2011/12, as [in-ear].
* Congratulations to Nils Henrik Asheim, recieving Spelemannpris (Norwegian Grammy) for "contemporary composer of the year, collaborating with Gjertruds Sigøynerorkester: "Mazurka - Remaking Chopin". I am the proud producer of this record.
* Congratulations also to Thom Hell for his Spellemannpris as "male artist of the year"! I am the proud arranger of string orchestra and wind instruments.
* Starting a collaboration with the fantastic Jenny Hval (formerly Rockettothesky) and Ensemble neoN! This work will result in a new [ episode ] sometime during 2012.
* These days I´m composing a piece for Håkon Stene (perc), Eivind Lønning (trp) and ensemble (TBA). What will it be, an [ in-ear ] piece, an [acoustic accident ]? You´ll see.
